Cadet Racing

Scream_to_go_fasterThe cadet racing continues this week with the Reid Scott Series.  There are three cups to contest, one for the Cadet main series, One for the Topper and one for the Mirrors.

The day started with some pretty ominous looking clouds, but the rain held off for until the end of the day.  There were some big winds with gusts touching a force 6 at times, but as the pictures show, everyone had a great time.

The first pictures are in the gallery section now.

Day two brought even bigger winds with gusts of force 7, none of which deterred the cadets from going out and having fun.

Day two pictures courtesy of Ian Johnson now in the gallery.

Terrific Teams

Digging-inA huge thank you must go to all the people who took part in the work party this is afternoon. When most people were tired after racing and went home and put their feet up, there were those gallant few who volunteered to work hard all afternoon to improve our Club to the benefit of us all. Mick Sargeant and his team spent several hours in the rill making it wider and straighter so that those who want to get away early or leave it a bit late to get back can creep along the rill without ending up on the mud. Barry Foulds and his team removed as much of the old fencing as they could without demolishing the campers’ tents, skilfully using the digger to reach over the parked dinghies to get out the posts. Tim Graty & Joe Leary’s team have cleared a great deal of debris from the south border and moved the cruiser chocks and frames into designated areas, thereby creating more boat parking space. Michael Beales gave some of the outside doors a much needed coat of paint. Thanks also to Kate Stewart and Anita Young who served up welcome cups of tea and cakes and cleared it all away afterwards. THANK YOU!
