The hottest and longest day of the year brought a flurry of activity to the club, with members making the most of the sunshine and breeze both on and off the water.
On Saturday, a scheduled day sail saw six cruisers and dinghies, including some of our Adventure Cadets, head downriver to Bradwell Beach for a picnic and refreshing swim. With gentle winds and glorious sunshine, conditions were perfect for a relaxing day on the water.
Meanwhile, three BSC yachts took part in a BJRC (Blackwater Joint Race Committee) Series race, with several cadets getting their first taste of cruiser racing – a great experience for the club's young sailors.
Back at the lake, five adults successfully completed their RYA Levels 1 & 2 dinghy course, wrapping up on Sunday in much stronger winds testing their newly acquired skills.
Elsewhere, an early morning sail to celebrate a birthday finished with members gathering for a lakeside picnic – the perfect end to a memorable weekend.
With sailing, racing, training and celebrations all rolled into one, it truly was a fabulous weekend for everyone involved.
